Job purpose

Monitor users, applications, networks, systems, and access to physical assets (includes intrusion prevention/detection, email/spam filtering, web filtering)

Main Accountabilities

Using various security and other monitoring tools to perform monitoring and analysis of security events to detect security risks and threats
Detect availability incidents;
Reviews alerts escalated by end users via email and raises tickets
Performs Level 1 triage of incoming issues ( initial assessing the priority of the event, initial determination of incident to determine risk and damage or appropriate routing of security or privacy data request)
Does monitoring of alert
Notifies L2 for high-priority incidents
Escalates incidents to L2
Takes an active part in the resolution of incidents (information gathering), even after they are escalated
Works closely with other teams to support the incident management process
Works with assigned ticket queue
Provides feedback to SOC Engineering on False Positives
Stay informed of current threats and vulnerabilities, particularly those that may directly affect internal systems
Other specific duties as assigned by the line manager

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Education: Bachelor degree of Informational technology, mathematics or other relevant field.
Work experience (desirable): 0-1 years experience in IT Operations
License / Certificate (desirable): CCNA, RHCSA, MCP, MCITP, CCNA Security, CompTIA Security +;
Foreign Language: English (intermediate)
Computer Skills: General Cyber Security concepts; general desktop OS and server OS knowledge; networking protocols (i.e. TCP/IP);awareness and general understanding of security threats and vulnerabilities; basic enterprise environment concepts such as Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, VPN and DHCP
Knowledge of host-based firewalls, Anti-Malware, HIDS

Other: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, work under pressure, team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment, working knowledge of current Incident Response Policy
